Best Day Trips from Tallinn-Estonia

rhdr

Tallinn is a beautiful and one of the most visited places of Estonia because of its medieval old town, hipster bars, centuries old architecture makes it an ideal place to visit. But there are number of mesmerizing places which are just a short ride away from Tallinn and can be easily visited. Below are the few recommendations for the best day trips from Tallinn.

1.Keila Waterfall

Keila waterfall is located approximately 30 kilometers from Tallinn’s center in the rural municipality of Keila and reminds you the interior beauty of Estonia. This is a natural waterfall appeared on the riverbed and is a total treat for your eyes to watch and explore. Keil waterfall is 6 meters in height and 10 meters wide along with jogging trail, park, and suspension bridges. The total area of landscape is almost 3 km which includes a beautiful park along sides of the river. Upon reaching the Keila waterfall from the front side you will encounter a renovated hydro electric powerplant as well, views from that side are totally recommended for 360o photography. From the same side, you can go down near the falls by using stairs and see the beauty closely. People often go inside or behind the waterfall but be careful if you plan to do this.

How to get there

You can always use public transport, buses are available, but you will have to walk a bit to the bus stop. Bus numbers 145, 146, 108, 127A, 237 runs daily to Keila and beyond. Check the schedule before planning.

It is recommended to drive by own car or rental car.

2. Jagala waterfall

Jagala waterfall is one of the biggest waterfalls in Estonia with the height of 8 meters. It is located approximately 30 kilometers from Tallinn in the Harju county. It is a natural waterfall on the lower side of the Jagala river before it flows into the Gulf of Finland. The waterfall is connected with a charming trail and small hill which gives an amazing vibe while you are standing there overlooking the water flowing. There are wooden stairs which connect to the lower side where you can closely see the river and waterfall. In winter, it is an astonishing scene to look at when waterfall totally freezes, and you may feel like you are in winter wonderland. There is a huge parking space adjacent to the waterfall which is totally free.

How to get there

It is recommended to drive there, public buses are available, but it may include bit of walking

3.Turisalu Cliff

Turisalu cliff is a popular destination because of it is 30-meter (above sea level) cliff top. This place is approximately 27 kilometers from city and just 4 kilometers from Keila waterfall. Locals usually goes there for cliff hanging and to see the beautiful sunsets in the summer. While seeing this place from far it wont appeal much but as soon as you discover the view you will definitely love this place. It is a perfect picturesque place with a sea in background while you are standing uphill on the cliff enjoying breathtaking views.

How to get there

Recommended by car.

4.Paukjarve matkarada

It is one of my favorite camping places which is approximately 70 kilometers away from Tallinn. Paukjarve basically is a nature trail with a lake where you can do camping, hiking, and swimming in the lake. It is a perfect place if you want to indulge yourself into a fully natural experience. The road which leads to the trail site is bit muddy and you must park your car at the parking lot. From there, it is a 10-minute hike crossing the beautiful trails to reach the lake.

Lake is fully hidden in between the woods and gives a magical vibe; water is clear, and you can swim easily. Imagine camping in a place full of greenery where you open the zipper and see the mesmerizing lake in front of you. This place will give you some special memories.

How to get there

Highly recommended to visit if you have a car.

Denver: the Magic of the West

United-States is not just about New-York City and California. Despite its multiple interests, Denver is still rarely visited by foreign tourists. All the better to enjoy authentic American culture. Here are the things you should not miss. 1) The Airport You may have a laugh by reading this title. Ok, it is not often that an airport is recommended as a tourist attraction. But, if you do not already know it, Denver may have the honor of the airport with the highest number of conspiracies in the world. This is due in part to a strange planning and to an expensive amount of modern arts with some weird biblical and mythological references. Head to the baggage claims. Two paintings of Leo Tanguma are present on the left and right sides. You can spend time observing them and drawing your own theory: is it about environmental destruction? Or the arrival of a new apocalypse? Or simply some nice modern arts that should not be taken too seriously? 2) LoDo Lower Downtown, abbreviated LoDo, is the historic heart of the city. Like many other America’s city centers, it had fallen in decay in the 60s as many people acquired cars and went to live in the suburbs. From the 90s it began a renaissance, historic buildings were renovated, and it is now a vibrant place with plenty of trendy restaurants. While you are in the area, do not miss Confluence Park nearby for the picturesque landscape of rocks around the river. 3) Brown Palace Hotel Denver Staying there will be very expensive, but it is one of those hotels where you should at least have a coffee (or better an English tea) to see the interior. Red brick walls, classy atrium, chairs that look like they could be sold in a high

Top 5 Reasons To Visit San Juan In Puerto Rico

Since Cristobal Colon landed in 1493 and until today, the archipelago of Puerto Rico has been consolidated as a tourist site with a wide cultural diversity, gastronomy and night celebrations. Made up of the main island and a significant number of keys and smaller islands (such as Mona, Vieques, and Culebra), the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico is the closest coast to the continental United States and one of the most attractive sites in the north Caribbean. When the Spanish navigator took possession of the island, he baptized it with the name of San Juan Bautista and, according to some historians, he was completely amazed by the place. In 1505 Juan Ponce de León, its first ruler, received permission to explore it until he finally colonized it in 1508, reversing the names of San Juan and Puerto Rico, to be given to the capital and the State, respectively. Full of breathtaking natural landscapes and history, this island has a great diversity of ecosystems with rain and dry forests, mountainous areas, coastal marine ecosystems and beautiful lakes. Important clarification before planning the trip: the particular history of Puerto Rico has direct consequences for those who want to visit the country, as since 1898 the territory of Puerto Rico is American. To get to the Caribbean island, the same visa and the same immigration law procedures as those required to set foot on North American soil apply. We are going to focus on the capital, San Juan, but it applies to the entire country, since it is small in size. 1. Friendly climate The temperature fluctuates all year round between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius, which means that it is always a good time to visit the island. The best time to visit San Juan and Puerto Rico is from mid-April to June,

New York: What To Do Outside Manhattan And Original Plans

New York is made up of five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island. Each district, at the same time, contains dozens of neighborhoods. And while it makes sense to focus on the Big Apple and get lost in the most iconic attractions of New York if you only have a few days, a trip to the capital of the world will never be complete if you do not go beyond Manhattan. New York is a city full of contrasts, and Manhattan is only the beginning. Many of New York’s attractions are in Manhattan, but now we will focus for a bit on the other boroughs. All these districts form a very heterogeneous and interesting conjunct, which if seen separately would look like different cities, but they make New York a magnificent city of strong and wonderful contrasts. 1. Bronx The most controversial and feared neighborhood in New York, but wait, it’s not that way anymore! The Bronx is located to the Northwest of New York City, above Manhattan. The “South Bronx” or South Bronx is the area of the Bronx district closest to Manhattan and during the 70s and 80s it suffered a continuous process of degradation and decay that – helped by film and television – ended up giving it the image of fearsome and the bad reputation that we all know today. The multi-ethnic, poor and overcrowded neighborhood was a victim of racial segregation and injustice, and was the bitterest expression of poverty, marginalization and social inequality. Today things have changed a lot due to the large investments made mainly in the education of young people, however, you must have some common sense when venturing through some of its streets. Walking alone on the streets at the last minute is not a great idea. Especially

To See in Metz

Metz is not very well-known to foreign visitors (though Georgia Tech students probably know it since this American University has a branch there). In the last years many parts of the historic center were rehabilitated for pedestrian use. Metz is now a vibrant city with an interesting architecture. This region of France is heavily influenced by Germany. Many of the French people over there have German family names. It is one of the only places in France where the state is allowed to directly finance some religions: when it was conquered back by France, the law of 1905 regarding the separation of the church and the state was not applied. 1) The Railway Station  One of the most beautiful in France. In the past, lots of French people hated it because it was built in 1905 when this region belonged to Germany. Nobody has these feelings anymore, and it was classified as a Historic Monument on 15 January 1975.  2) The Cathedral St Etienne de Metz This cathedral took a long time to be built, like many monuments of the same kind. It has the biggest vitrail surface of any cathedral in France.  3) The Place St-Louis  The history of the Place St-Louis comes from the middle-age. Despite being very far away from the Italian border, there is a lot of Italian influence on the architecture. 3) Centre Pompidou You may know the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and it has an annex in Metz. The quality of the expositions vary a lot, but even if museums are not your thing you should see the outside architecture. 4) Musée de la Cour d’Or Founded in 1839, the Musée de la Cour d’Or includes many historic elements: a Roman thermal complex, a granary from the gothic period, a convent and a chapel.
